Getty Villa Museum will be closed until next week

In a post on X, the Getty Villa Museum said it will close from Wednesday, citing its popular art museum.
"In an abundance of caution and to keep roads clear in the surrounding areas, the Getty Center will be closed tomorrow January 8," the post states, adding that it will remain closed from Wednesday through Monday Jan 13. Staff are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates when available.
Los Angeles fire officials report that a fire is burning on the grounds of the museum, though not having done damage to the building.
The collection is quite exhaustive: paintings by Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet are situated next to the beautiful classical Greek and Roman sculptures
