Here's a very easy-to-follow recipe for a tasty burger patty:

.

Ingredients:

- Ground meat: beef, chicken, turkey, or plant-based mince: 500 grams or 1 pound

- Salt: 1 teaspoon

- Black pepper: 1 teaspoon

- Onion powder: 1 teaspoon (optional)

- Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon (optional)

- Worcestershire sauce: 1 tablespoon (optional, for added flavor)

- Egg: 1 (optional, for binding)

- Breadcrumbs: 2 tablespoons (optional, for added structure)

- Oil or butter: For cooking

Instructions:

(1) : Prepare the Patty Mixture:

[ 1 ] : In a large bowl, combine ground meat, salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce.

[ 2 ] : If using egg and breadcrumbs, add them to the mixture. This helps bind the patty, especially for lean meats or plant-based alternatives.

[ 3 ] : Mix lightly with your hands or a spoon. Overmixing may cause the patties to be tough.

(2) : Shape the Patties:

1. Divide the mixture into equal portions (typically 4-6 patties, depending on size desired).

2. Form each portion into a ball and flatten it gently into a round patty, about ½ inch thick.

3. Using your thumb, make an indentation in the middle of each patty. That helps prevent puffed up puffing when being cooked.

(3) :  Cook the Patties:

 To Pan-Fry:

[ 1 ] : Heat your skillet or frying pan over a medium-high temperature. Add oil or butter if necessary.

[ 2 ] : Put the patties in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Adjust the time for your desired doneness.

Grilling:

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.

To Bake:  Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

4. Assemble and Serve:

1. Allow the patties to rest for 2-3 minutes after cooking so that their juices stay intact.

2. Add them to hamburgers with your favorite toppings like cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and sauces.

Tips for Perfect Patties:

Use ground meat with some fat content (beef: 80% lean, 20% fat, for example) for juicier patties.  Avoid pressing the patties with a spatula while cooking; it squeezes out the juices.

- Try adding some herbs and spices, like paprika, chili flakes, or parsley, to spice it up.

Homemade hamburger patties, yum! ????
