Two dead, 19 injured after small plane crashes into Fullerton furniture manufacturing building


 On January 2, 2025, a small single-engine Van's RV-10 aircraft crashed into a furniture manufacturing building near Fullerton Municipal Airport in California, killing two people and injuring 19.


It was reported to happen about 2:09 p.m. PST after takeoff at the airport. There is a voice audio by the air traffic control where it stated that the pilot tried making an emergency landing when it headed initially towards Runway 6 before diverting it towards Runway 24. Right before crashing, communications between the pilot are inaudible.



The crash triggered an explosion and fire, severely damaging the building. Es evacuated more than 100 occupants from the warehouse. Of the injured, 11 were transported to hospitals, while eight were treated on-site.


Fullerton Mayor Fred Jung praised the affected families and lauded the first responders for their timely response. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched an investigation into the crash.



This sad incident has severely shaken the community, as the people who witnessed it described the blast and the resulting fire. Investigation is underway to determine the cause that led to this crash.
